After a long hiatus, the Postal Administration and the Vatican Mint are participating in the Sberatel. It will bring to Prague not only a new issue of coins, which will have its premiere at the Sberatel, but also postage stamps, which were created for the Papal State in the past by the artist Marina Richterová and are hardly available on the Czech market.
It will also be possible to meet Marina Richterová directly at the fair; she has scheduled an autograph session for Saturday afternoon, connected with the presentation of the new stamp issue of “Shakespeare’s Play”, which she created for the Czech Post.
On Friday, Ondřej Moravec, the most successful Czech biathlete in history, will personally launch the new Czech Post and Fair Sberatel postcard from the “Legends” series. After the planned autograph session, the silver medallist from the 2014 Sochi Games will be replaced by chef, gourmet and collector Roman Vaněk.
The founder of the Prague Culinary Institute, author of popular cookbooks and the Hell on a Plate programme is the owner of the largest domestic collection of menus, historical cookbooks and many rarities related to gastronomy. From his collections, it will be possible to see, among other things, a selection of rare restaurant menus or a set of historical miniature cookbooks (which were actually used to cook), including one written and published by Roman Vaněk himself.
The Czech Post has prepared a commemorative postcard “Gastronomy on stamps” with a selection of Czech “gastrozines”, which are accompanied by a quote by Roman Vaněk and a graphic motif from a historical menu by Alfons Mucha.
The Czech Lion investment coin with hologram premieres at the Sberatel fair. The coin with the hologram will be available for purchase directly at the Czech Mint’s stand before it appears in shops. Its author, medallist Asamat Baltaev, will then hold a big autograph session on Friday right at the Mint’s stand.
The famous Citroën 2CV is celebrating 75 years, and the Sberatel Fair has prepared a stamp sheet with coupons imprinted with the legendary “duck” motif to mark the occasion. It was designed by artist Roman Sedlák, who also prepared the same motif for the popular “0 euro souvenir” collector’s note.
On Saturday, the car racer Bára Holická and her co-driver Lucie Engova, sister of our only F1 pilot Tomáš Enge, will come to the fair to christen it. Both ladies are planning to take the Citroën 2CV to the upcoming Dakar Rally in the Classic category. Their upcoming Citroën 2CV race special will be on display at the Sberatel fair and the author of the coupon and banknote motif will also be present at the planned autograph session.
The “James Bond on Postage Stamps” exhibition is sure to be a big draw for all fans of Agent 007. A unique collection of motifs from the famous Agent 007 films on postage stamps from all over the world will be publicly exhibited for the first time ever.
